Shelby - 6 1/2 months old

I finally have some time at the computer to give you an update on Shelby. I am usually posting from my iphone and I don't have time to type anything out. Shelby is now 6 1/2 months old and getting so big. She is probably over 16 lbs now and growing like a weed. She is a happy baby and is really starting to like playing with toys on the ground. We usually spread out a blanket and hand her a few toys and she keeps herself entertained pretty good (as long as I am in the room). She loves her mommy and doesn't like it when I leave. Shelby loves loves loves to watch Kennedy and laughs at her all the time. Kennedy is such a good big sister and she loves to make Shelby laugh.

Shelby is a good little sleeper too. She is pretty much on a napping schedule now. She sleeps 12 hours at night - 7:30ish to 7:30ish and take a morning nap and an afternoon nap. Most of the time she takes her afternoon nap when Kennedy is taking her nap so it gives mommy a little break! She loves to sleep in later then Kennedy ever slept. It's nice to wake up in the morning and have a little one on one time with just Kennedy.

Shelby wants to be mobile so bad. As I said in an earlier post, she doesn't like being on her tummy. She can roll from her back to her belly no problem but doesn't like to roll from her belly to her back. So, she often gets mad and will fuss until someone comes and sits her up. She is very stable sitting up now and that is her preferred position. She does that bouncing thing in the sitting position and it kinds bounces her toward a toy or across the blanket. It's pretty funny.

She is getting her first tooth. It started coming in on the 11th and is slowing making its way. It looks like her other lower middle tooth is going to break through the gums any day now. Poor thing gets uncomfortable from teething. I can't wait for the teething phase to be behind me.... in about 2 years.
