We were so excited to get to Havasu to see Rob and Amy and finally meet 15 month old RJ. Rob gave us the grand tour of their BEAUTIFUL new custom home. As he was showing us around, we were standing out on their dream patio when Matt got stung by some kind of bug on his knee. We weren't there for even 10 minutes! Matt is allergic to bees so if her gets stung, that means a trip to the hospital. When he got stung, we found the stinger but we didn't know what kind of bug got him. his knee started to itch but we decided to watch it and see what happens. So, we went along our day visiting and getting caught up with Rob and Amy. That night, his knee started to swell and was red and hot. Again, we decided to watch it.
The next morning, the swelling was worse and was going down his leg toward his foot so he called our insurance and they said to take some benadryl and see if it gets better. He took some benadryl and fell fast asleep. After a 2 hour nap, his leg was still not getting better. So, Rob took him to urgent care and it turned out he had a staph infection! He got two shots in his butt and some antibiotics to take home with him. By the time he got back to the house, it was 1:30ish. Our plan was to take the boat out on the water that day but as you can see, plans changed. Matt really wasn't feeling well so he asked if we could go home. You know how it is... when you don't feel well, you just want to be home. We broke to news to Rob and Amy that we were leaving and we packed up and headed home. I think we were at their house a total of 24 hours before we drove the 4 1/2 hours home.
Even though it was a short trip, I am so glad we made it out to Havasu to see Rob and Amy and finally meet RJ. He is such a sweet boy. RJ and Kennedy played great together. I really think Kennedy met her match because he is a busy body just like Kennedy! And since he was walking all over the place it was good for Kennedy to see that. She has started walking more and more and will take 5-10 steps all by herself now.
I have to thank Rob and Amy for having us at their beautiful house and for making us feel so at home. We appreciate all that you did for us and thank you for the mother's day card and plant. You guys are the best! I sure wish we lived closer together so we can see more of you. Please, come visit us in San Diego!

RJ liked Kennedy's pink and purple sippy cup. He would drink out of it and then he would share with Kennedy. It was so cute!!!
They had a kid swimming pool set up in the back yard so we went for a dip. It was 107 out....

It was SO great to see you guys even though it was short. We hope Matt is feeling better . .. give him our love! We'll see you in San Diego soon! :)
